Manufacturer & Exporter of Bronze, Gunmetal & Aluminium Bronze Flanges

Bronze Plate Flanges Manufacturer & Exporter

Plate flanges are flat, drilled rings or discs machined from plate, bar or cast blanks. They are simple, economical and easy to produce at non-standard diameters and bolt patterns.

  • 7 UNS grades
  • MTC where required
  • Standard pattern or customer drawing

Product Overview

A plate flange is defined by four numbers: outside diameter, thickness, bore and bolt circle with its hole pattern. That makes it the natural choice for tank nozzles, equipment connections, low-pressure ducting and any joint designed around a drawing rather than a pipe standard. It may be brazed or welded to a collar or pipe, or used as a backing ring.

Technical Description

Plate flanges are machined from wrought plate (C63000 plate is covered by ASTM B171), from continuous-cast bar in aluminium bronze and leaded bronze grades, or from cast blanks. Where a PN-rated drilling is required, the EN 1092-1 Type 01 plate-flange configuration is a common reference. Either ASME or EN bolt patterns can be drilled; specify the standard on the RFQ.

Construction

  • Flat ring or disc, uniform thickness
  • Central bore to drawing, or a blank centre for later machining
  • Bolt circle (PCD) and holes per ASME, EN or custom pattern
  • Flat face (FF) as standard; raised face on request
  • Edge chamfers and surface finish per drawing

Sizes

Plate flanges are made to your diameter, thickness and bore, subject to plate or bar availability in the chosen alloy. Include the drawing and quantity in the RFQ.

Pressure Classes

Plate flange pressure capability depends on thickness, alloy, bolting, gasket and the support of the joint. It is a design decision for the system engineer. We machine to the drawing and do not assign a pressure rating to a non-standard plate flange.

Facing Options

Flat face is standard. Raised faces, spigots and recesses can be machined to suit the gasket and mating part.

Applications

  • Tank and vessel nozzles
  • Equipment and machinery connections
  • Low-pressure ducting and headers
  • Backing rings on collars or stub ends

Manufacturing

Blanks are cut or sourced from plate, bar or cast stock according to alloy. Faces are turned flat, the bore and OD finished, and the bolt pattern drilled to the drawing, with edges deburred.

Inspection and Documentation

Thickness, OD, bore, PCD, hole diameter and hole-to-hole spacing are checked against the drawing; surfaces are examined visually. Material verification and MTC are provided where required.

Custom Requirements

Plate flanges are the most flexible product in our range. Special thickness, bore, PCD, hole count, slots, tapped holes and customer marking are all routinely drawing-driven.

FAQ

Plate Flanges: common questions

What do you need to quote a plate flange?

Outside diameter, thickness, bore, bolt circle diameter, hole count and diameter, the material grade and the quantity.

Which bolt patterns can plate flanges have?

ASME, EN/PN (for example the EN 1092-1 Type 01 plate-flange configuration), JIS and custom patterns can be drilled.

What stock do plate flanges come from?

Plate, continuous-cast bar or cast blanks, depending on the alloy and size. C63000 plate is covered by ASTM B171.
